In the Land of My Eyes

The exhibition “Na Terra de Meus Olhos” by artist Sâmela explores different spaces of her lived reality and imaginative creativity. The inventions within abstractions, forms, and strokes find their path through wonder and enchantment.
The show seeks to revive values of childhood—with strong playful elements in the works—introducing an alternative way of situating oneself in the world; moving away from the superficial toward the genuine.
As she advances in her creations, the pleasure in the creative process is essential for the artist, who believes that her ability to express so innocently the emotions experienced during creation awakens a sense of identification in the viewer.
Even in difficult times, it is possible to invent one’s own reality, elevating art as a form of language and as a tool for change.
The exercise of sensitivity and introspection turns life into a journey of knowledge and inspiration, available to be nurtured.
