Sâmela Barreto is a visual artist whose practice begins with painting. Her work emerges from a search for sensitivity, silence, and emotional closeness, understanding creation as a space of freedom and emptying.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, she spent her childhood in Búzios, where contact with the landscape and the atmosphere of the coast influenced the way she observes and constructs images. She began her training in painting in Cabo Frio, where she learned oil painting techniques, a fundamental basis of her artistic practice.

She later entered the Visual Arts undergraduate program and, throughout this journey, moved to Joinville, Santa Catarina, where she expanded her work in design and photography, collaborating with companies such as Oh My Bread!. These experiences contributed to the development of a visual language that moves between art and communication.

She currently lives and works in São Paulo, where she is completing her studies and continuing to deepen her artistic research.
